I’m Jennymelva, a Filipina herbalist and a holistic healing arts practitioner offering herbal remedies, personalized plant and flower essences, sound and vibroacoustic therapy, energy sessions, facial reflexology, and community circles. My work is centered on supporting nervous system regulation and meaningful connection.

My path into this work is rooted in my own lived experience. Early experiences of trauma carried into adulthood, repeating in ways that led me to seek out spirituality, personal growth, and self-regulation practices/creative outlets from a young age. What began as a search for understanding slowly became a commitment to learning to meet myself with honesty, deepen my self-awareness, and practice acceptance and compassion, even in the parts of me that felt hardest to hold.

The first time I held space for others happened unexpectedly. While attending a continuation high school, I struggled to stay focused and often tried to avoid class. One day, I asked a mentor if I could start a girls circle where we could share and support one another Eventually it got approved. What began as a simple idea became a meaningful space. A small group of us gathered, shared openly, and created an environment that felt safe and free of judgment. In that space, we realized we weren’t alone. It encouraged us to begin our inner work with more compassion and courage.

I later received an award for creating the group something I didn’t fully understand at the time and did not take seriously. Looking back, it affirmed the path I’m on today and planted the seed for the work I now feel called to do.

As I continued growing, I began volunteering with nonprofit organizations, helping organize adoption awareness dinners, coordinating food and clothing donations, and supporting community initiatives. Service, connection, and collective care became a natural extension of who I was becoming.

In 2015, my life shifted again when I was faced with becoming a single mother of two. That experience brought me into a deeper layer of my own healing. I moved through grief, depression, and personal challenges that led me into a period of intense self-reflection. It became a turning point. Through shadow work, releasing limiting beliefs, and understanding how subconscious patterns shape our lives, I began rebuilding my relationship with myself cultivating self-love, self-worth, and a stronger sense of personal accountability. Through this, I knew I was being called to create intentional spaces for others who were also seeking healing, transformation, and community.

Over the years, my work has evolved into creating and leading my own spaces. I founded Jane + James Apothecary and Shop, where I offered herbal remedies, plant and flower essence remedies, and shared my work through local market events.

I later created Sun & Her Moon Collective, a space dedicated to supporting those on a transformational healing journey. Through this work, we offered tools, resources, and mentorship, along with sound and creative expression, circle gatherings, and Reiki trainings that supported personal growth and connection. We also hosted day retreats at Alpine Acres Sanctuary Farm called “Flow With Nature”, which were featured on several news channels.

Through these experiences, my work has continued to expand rooted in both intuitive wisdom and ongoing learning. I remained committed to deepening my practice in ways that allowed me to support others with greater care, presence, and integrity.

In 2023, my life shifted once more. After reaching what I thought was stability, I experienced another period of deep burnout, grief, heartbreak and depression. I made the difficult decision to close my businesses and step away from everything I had built.

What followed was a season of going inward. I returned to school, sought therapy, continued my trainings, sought employment and allowed myself to slow down with my practices and rebuild with honesty and compassion. I faced impostor syndrome, questioned my path, and learned the importance of boundaries, accountability, and not bypassing the difficult parts of healing. That time deepened my commitment to this work in a real and grounded way.

It was also during this time that I realized something important. You are allowed to be a work in progress while still showing up for others. Healing is not linear or complete; it is continuous. Growth, learning, and unlearning are inevitable parts of the process.

From that understanding, I felt called to begin again this time with more alignment, authenticity, and intention. I created Kapwa Roots as a new expression of my work, bringing together all of my skill sets, lived experiences, and deeper sense of self.

Today, I approach my work with humility, openness, and lived experience. I believe healing is not a destination. It is an ongoing relationship with ourselves and with community. The spaces I create are for those who are ready to show up with honesty, take responsibility for their growth, and be supported by others walking a similar path.

My intention is to create environments where you can reconnect with your body, regulate your nervous system, explore supportive approaches to wellness, and feel grounded in a more aligned and meaningful life.
